I am delighted to welcome you to our new website! At St Peter’s Church of England Primary School, Wymondham, we aim to create a happy family environment underpinned by strong Christian values. The school is held in high regard by the local community. Parents and carers speak highly of the outstanding care, guidance and support that make their children feel extremely safe and valued. Pupils attend regularly, behave impeccably and appreciate the extra help and nurture they receive in such a small school.
On 1st June 2014, we joined the Diocese of Leicester Academies Trust in order to secure the future of our unique and lovely school to serve its community for many years to come. Since January 2015, St Peter’s CE Primary School, Wymondham and Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School have entered into a partnership, with one Head teacher and two governing bodies, as a way of improving our own provision and offering greater opportunities for staff, pupils and governors.
As a Church School we not only encourage our pupils to strive for excellence in the core subjects, but also to broaden their education, to embrace and develop the concepts of faith and spirituality, of hope and charity and to enable them to develop into knowledgeable world citizens. We aim to provide a happy, caring, industrious school that will promote high standards of personal achievement.
Our latest Ofsted report states that ‘Pupils enjoy school and their behaviour is excellent. They have exceptionally positive attitudes to learning’.
At St Peter’s, Wymondham, our philosophy, ethos and values are centred around the child. Our team of experienced teachers and teaching assistants provide a caring environment full of challenging, inspiring and exciting learning opportunities. We recognise every child as an individual and we strive to meet their learning needs to enable each and every one to reach his or her full potential.
The school has three large, well-equipped classrooms together with a school hall, library, staff room, office accommodation and very attractive school grounds. Outside we have an enclosed play area for the Foundation children, a large hard playground, an expansive sports field and Quiet Garden. As well as receiving high quality class teaching, the children are taught weekly by a sports coach from Active Melton and all pupils travel fortnightly to Melton Mowbray by coach for swimming lessons. A specialist Music teacher is also employed by the school. The children are offered a variety of after school clubs including: Drama; Board Games; Choir; Football; Running. Moreover, they take part in outdoor adventure residential visits, sports competitions and tournaments.
If you are a prospective parent looking for an admission place for your child, please contact us as I'd be pleased to meet you and show you around.

School Closure Update: The burst water pipe in Melton is unlikely to be resolved due to its location and tricky weather conditions. Therefore, school will remain closed tomorrow 12th December, unless the situation changes. Unfortunately, this also means we shall have to cancel our Christmas Concert. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause and will contact you by Parentmail to provide further updates when we have more information.
The school kitchens are open and they will be providing the lunches. If you wish to send a packed lunch as back up that is fine. We will serve the hot lunches and send the packed lunch home.
School is open today. We are currently checking if the kitchens are open and will provide an update as soon as possible.
